Sell a segment for an unaccompanied minor

To sell a segment for an unaccompanied minor, you add the UM action code and the passenger's ages to the direct sell or sell from Amadeus availability entry (not valid for direct access availability). The upper age limit for an unaccompanied minor is 12 years (from 4 or 5 to 12, depending of the airline). The system only accepts unaccompanied minor sell transactions for available flights.  If you do not use the UM action code in your segment sell entry, you must add the unaccompanied minor SSR element manually after you have ended the transaction. For details, refer to Amadeus Help Page: HE SR. Do not use the child (CHD) passenger type in the name when booking an unaccompanied minor. An SSR is generated for each segment in the itinerary, as in the example below:  6 SSR UMNR 6X HN3 UM05/06/09/S4                                                      Some airlines also request that you send address information of the persons collecting of leaving the minor at the airport, or the date of the birth of the child. This information is usually entered using an OSI element. For details, refer to Amadeus Help Page: HE OS. Depending on the airline, the information required in the SR OS segment might be different. For additional information, refer to the GGAIR pages, for example GGAIRBAMINOR. Not airlines may have GG pages, in which case you can check in Service Hub for titles that have the airline name or on the web in the airline's website.

Sell a waitlist segment for an unaccompanied minor

On some airlines, you can also book a waitlisted segment for an unaccompanied minor. There are two ways of doing this:      Sell from availability:  SS3D3/PE6,8,9    (where 6, 8 and 9 are the ages of the unaccompanied minors) Direct sell entry:  SSSK911D1FEBCPHEWRPE1/7    (where 7 is the age of the unaccompanied minor)

Price an unaccompanied minor

To price an unaccompanied minor (UM), use the passenger type code Unn (nn= age) For information on passenger type code UM, refer to the Amadeus Help page HE PTC (look for the list of passenger type codes) For information on pricing passenger type code UM, refer to the Amadeus Help page HE FXP or HE FXX for some airlines, the format to use for pricing might be specific.
